Rorschach Update: Caught Up, Restocked, and Looking Ahead
Share
It's been around five weeks since our last blog post, and we've been unusually quiet across our social media channels. If you've been wondering where we've disappeared to, the answer is simple: we've been building Rorschachs.
Over the last few months, demand for Rorschach has exceeded anything we expected. Between DIY kits, prebuilt devices, retailer orders, and the fantastic response following DivKid's review, every spare moment has been spent soldering, testing, packing, and shipping devices.
The good news is that for the first time in our history, we are now completely up to date with customer orders.
All orders placed through the Lumatic Visual Devices website and the Decadebridge Etsy store have either already shipped or are booked to ship on Monday. Reaching this point feels like a huge milestone for us, and we'd like to thank everyone for their patience while we worked through the backlog.
Retail Stock Updates
With customer orders now caught up, we are turning our attention to replenishing retailer stock.
New stock shipments are currently being prepared for:
Meanwhile, Rorschach is currently available from:
We're also pleased to announce that DIY kits (PAL only) are now available from Thonk, making it even easier for builders to get their hands on a Rorschach kit.
Quality Testing Every Device
A lot of new DIY kits and prebuilt devices are now arriving with their new owners, and we've recently uploaded a new video to YouTube showing part of our quality testing process.
Every prebuilt Rorschach is tested in-house before shipping to ensure everything functions exactly as it should. We thought it would be interesting to show a little of what happens behind the scenes before a device leaves our workshop.
If you haven't seen it yet, head over to our YouTube channel and take a look.
Missing 1N4001 Diodes in Some DIY Kits
Unfortunately, we have discovered that a small number of DIY kits were shipped missing a single 1N4001 diode.
We're very sorry about this.
If you discover that your kit is affected, please get in touch with us and we'll send the missing component out immediately.
Detailed Instructions Are Finally Coming
One thing we've been promising for a while is a more comprehensive set of instructions and documentation.
We know this has taken far longer than expected, and we'd like to apologise for the delay.
Now that we're finally caught up with production, we can dedicate time to completing the detailed guides that Rorschach deserves. We think there may be a few pleasant surprises hidden in there too. Some of the form generators and controls can do much more than might be immediately obvious, and we're looking forward to sharing some techniques, examples, and discoveries that will help you get even more from your device.
Building Stock for the Future
One of the biggest lessons we've learned over the last few months is that demand can arrive very quickly.
To help avoid long lead times in future, we're continuing to build Rorschachs even though we're caught up with current orders. Our goal is to maintain stock levels so that customers can receive their devices much faster, without having to wait while units are built.
Superbooth 2025
Last month we visited Superbooth in Berlin.
Although we weren't exhibiting this year, it was fantastic to meet new and existing Rorschach owners, talk with artists, manufacturers, and retailers, and immerse ourselves in the incredible atmosphere that makes Superbooth such a special event.
One particularly memorable moment was spotting several people walking around wearing Lumatic Visual Devices T-shirts. Seeing people proudly wearing our logo on the other side of Europe was genuinely moving, and something we'll never forget.
Thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello.
Thank You
Finally, we'd like to thank everyone who has supported Lumatic Visual Devices so far.
Whether you've purchased a Rorschach, recommended us to a friend, shared your artwork online, created videos, left feedback, or simply followed along on our journey, we genuinely appreciate it.
The last few months have been incredibly busy, but they've also been incredibly rewarding.
Now that we're finally caught up with production, we can spend more time doing something we've been missing: creating content.
We're looking forward to sharing more videos, tutorials, demonstrations, patch ideas, and creative experiments showing different ways to use Rorschach.
We can't wait to show you what's next.
Big Love
